UlTimate

Titanium is one of the most impressive metals in the world. Compared to stainless steel it cuts the weight almost in half. It is more durable, non-magnetic, hypoallergenic, scratch and corrosion resistant. This makes Titanium the ultimate material – especially within the field of aerospace.
Titanium. After all it is just awesome.

Sliding watch image

Case

The one and only watch designed for space. A mission tool made of titanium:
Exceptional. Solid. Sandblasted.

Block Bracelet & Slide Clasp

The titanium Block Bracelet is of the highest quality and intensifies the character of AMADEE-20.

Precision milled: With more than 8mm of range the Slide Clasp offers full flexibility. Perfect fit. Any time. Any planet.

Mission Control Bezel®
MCB™

Mission Control Bezel™

The average time lag between Mars and Earth is 10 minutes. This is the reason why we invented the MCB™. With a simple turn of the bezel the astronauts know exactly when further communication will be arriving from ground control.

THE MISSION CONTROL BEZEL™

It takes an average of 10 minutes for a message from Earth to arrive on Mars and vice versa.
Our answer: MCB™.
With a simple turn of the bezel, astronauts will know exactly when their messages will arrive at Mission Control.

Communication delays:
The vast distance between Earth and Mars (from 54.6M km to 401M km, depending on the positions on their respective orbits) means there will be significant communication delays between mission control and the first explorers of the Red Planet.
The radio signal can travel anywhere in between 3 minutes and 21 minutes, which means that a single message/response exchange can take up to 42 minutes.
For the sake of efficiency, the participants of the AMADEE-20 mission will be testing a moderate average delay of 10 minutes by utilizing the minute hand combined with a special marker on the Mission Control Bezel.

Anyway:
How often right here on earth do you say:
“I’ll be there in 10 Minutes” or “Call you back in 10 Minutes”

This is how we redefined a crucial space-function for a terrestrial living.

THE NEXT GIANT LEAP: MARS.

Our common goal of these missions is to inspire the next generations and do as much as possible to pave the future path. But there is one thing that happens over time: Losing sight of the objective. This should never happen again: That’s why we ultra-engraved it into the caseback.

Extra, not ordinary. Agree?

Remarkable. Reimagined. Reinvented. A dial that draws you in and blows you away. An immersive experience. There is nothing alike. Unique. Always surprising.

Multiple finishes on the surface enhance different areas of the stardust-gray dial.

Sandblasted, just like the surface of Mars

Sandstorms on Mars are no fun — they can cover the whole planet with sand just in two weeks.

In keeping with that, we sandblasted the new AMADEE-20 instead of a brushed or polished finish. The result: beautiful sandlike color and hardly any reflections.

Grand Counter

To help measuring the elapsed time on certain experiments we created the Grand Counter. Function and readability are key on the Grand Counter. A sunburst finish allows for good contrasts and greater capturing speed.

It can count up to 30 minutes. It is created in a very bold, readable way. That’s why we call it “Grand Counter”.

The embossed lines symbolize the orbit of Mars with its natural axis.

Superluminova® X1

Big numerals that are applied onto the dial and injected with the highest quality of Superluminova® X1 are key for this mission watch in space.

Put simply:
In the same way that the airplane was not invented by people in search of fortune, but by passionate men that just wanted to fly, so too are Nick ambitions to build magnificent things.

Core Design Philosophy
Simple in Function: Life is tricky, your gear shouldn’t be.
Solid in Form: Life is tough, your gear should be tougher.
Smart in Design: Life is unfair, your gear should even the odds.

AMADEE:
Greater fidelity, more simulation and a strong focus on life detection

AMADEE is the flagship research program of the Austrian Space Forum, scheduled between 2018-2028. It is a framework for the development of hardware, workflows and the science behind future human-robotic planetary surface missions.
With strategic partnerships, cutting-edge science & engineering as well as a strong outreach & education component, AMADEE is open to international cooperation and cutting edge research. AMADEE is based upon a significant body of knowledge and operational expertise gained during the PolAres predecessor program which included 11 major international Mars analog field campaigns, the development of spacesuit simulators, 10 flights of stratospheric balloons and a rover program. In addition, the teams developed the infrastructure and training & certification regimes for a dedicated Mission Support Center and a standing corps of Analog Astronauts as well as a multi-mission science data archive.

The main focus lies on Astrobiology. Secondary objectives are operational knowledge and mission architecture.
The planetary surfaces simulated are not limited to Mars. With the AMADEE program, the possibility of investigating surface operations on other planetary bodies (i.e. moons) will be introduced. Therefore, the program provides a more flexible framework on the one hand, but at the same time ensures a better scientific output with an extended focus on the Remote Science Support team.

Austrian Space Forum

The Austrian Space Forum is the only organization in Europe – and one of only four worldwide – to develop spacesuit technology for human Mars missions. With their cutting-edge scientific research, they are an inspiration for the next generation explorers.

Analog Astronauts

Analog Astronauts are real Astronauts – on Earth. They are specifically trained to test all aspects for future planetary missions: They are the space pioneers. Paving the way.
