NOVONAUT HALO: THE MOST LUMINOUS FORTIS EVER.

A full Lumicast X1 dial. Dark panda counters. A luminous ceramic bezel. And the latest generation of our space-tested chronograph movement. Meet the Novonaut Halo.

The Novonaut has always been a serious tool watch. Built for readability, developed for demanding conditions and powered by a chronograph movement tested far beyond Earth.

The Novonaut Halo takes that foundation in a new direction.

For the first time, the entire base dial is made from Lumicast® X1. Rather than applying luminous material only to individual details, the Halo uses it across the full dial beneath the dark chronograph counters.

The effect changes completely with the light.

By day, the contrast between the coloured dial and dark counters creates a distinctive panda layout. In darkness, the full Lumicast® X1 base dial comes alive, while the counters remain dark. Together with the luminous ceramic bezel, it creates the intense glow that gave the watch its name.

This is the most luminous Fortis ever.

And underneath all that light is still a proper Novonaut.

WHY HALO?

Lume has always had a practical role in a tool watch: make important information visible when light disappears.

For the Halo, Fortis took that principle considerably further.

Instead of treating luminosity as an addition to the dial, it became the starting point. The full Lumicast® X1 base creates a large luminous surface, while the dark counters interrupt the light and preserve the chronograph layout.

That contrast is central to the Halo.

During the day, you see colour, depth and the panda configuration. As the surroundings become darker, the relationship reverses. The base dial becomes the brightest element of the watch and the dark counters appear almost cut into the light.

Add the luminous ceramic bezel and the familiar Novonaut takes on a second identity after dark.

It is functional. It is slightly excessive.

We rather like that.

THREE COLOURS. THREE HALOS.

The concept comes in Halo Black, Halo Blue and Halo Green.

Each uses the same full Lumicast® X1 dial construction, dark counters and luminous ceramic bezel, but colour changes the result considerably.

Halo Black is built around pure contrast. Dark counters against the luminous base give it the most direct interpretation of the concept.

Halo Blue brings a cooler tone to the collection, transforming into an intense blue display after dark.

Halo Green connects the Halo idea with the colour most closely associated with classic luminous instruments and tool watches.

Three different characters during the day. Three very different displays when the lights go out.

PANDA. JUST NOT AS YOU KNOW IT.

There is something familiar about the Novonaut Halo.

The dark counters against a lighter or coloured base immediately recall the classic panda chronograph. It is one of watchmaking's most recognisable dial configurations for good reason: contrast makes a chronograph easier to read.

The Halo keeps that principle and changes the material behind it.

Here, the panda layout sits on a full Lumicast® X1 base dial.

So the contrast does not disappear at night. It becomes stronger.

The counters remain dark while the dial around them glows. A familiar chronograph idea suddenly looks very different.

WERK 17 TR. THE NEXT GENERATION.

Behind the Halo sits the latest development of the Fortis chronograph movement.

Werk 17 TR is an automatic column-wheel chronograph with variable-inertia regulation, two-point balance fixation and a 70-hour power reserve.

TR stands for Trägheitsregulierung. The free-sprung variable-inertia balance allows regulation through the balance itself, while the two-point fixation provides additional stability and improved resistance to shocks.

It is the next step in a movement programme that Fortis has been developing and testing under conditions rather more demanding than a watchmaker's bench.

Because Werk 17 has already been to space.

SPACE-TESTED. FOR REAL.

Before Werk 17 reached the wrist, Fortis wanted to know what would happen when it left the ground.

The movement was first tested during a stratospheric mission with the Swedish Space Corporation, followed by a rocket mission that exposed it to the conditions associated with spaceflight.

Those missions were part of the development of Werk 17 and the technical foundation on which Werk 17 TR continues to build.

So behind the luminous dial, panda counters and ceramic bezel of the Novonaut Halo is a space-tested column-wheel chronograph with 70 hours of power reserve.

The Halo may attract the attention first.

There is plenty going on behind it.

THE NEXT STOP: THE MOON

And the Novonaut story in space continues.

Norwegian company Nåva Space is developing a next-generation spacesuit for future lunar missions. When it came to integrating a mechanical watch into the suit, Nåva selected the Fortis Novonaut.

The watch is incorporated directly into the suit as a mechanical timekeeping backup, bringing the Novonaut into the development of equipment intended for future human spaceflight.

It is an unusual role for a mechanical watch in 2026.

It also makes a surprising amount of sense.

Mechanical timekeeping requires no connection to a satellite, network or external power source. For a watch conceived as a serious tool, integration into a spacesuit being developed for future Moon missions is a logical place to continue testing what the Novonaut can do.

A TOOL WATCH YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO WEAR

The Novonaut Halo was developed from the principles of a tool watch: readability, robustness and mechanical function.

But a Fortis does not have to spend its life waiting for an extreme situation to justify its existence.

Most days involve considerably less space travel.

That is why we think of Fortis as luxury for every day. Watches engineered seriously enough for demanding environments, but designed to be worn wherever the day happens to take you.

The Novonaut Halo captures both sides particularly well.

A full Lumicast® X1 dial and luminous ceramic bezel make it the most luminous Fortis ever. Dark counters give it its panda character. Werk 17 TR provides the mechanics underneath. Space testing gives those mechanics a history beyond the specification sheet.

And when darkness falls, the whole thing changes.

Halo Black. Halo Blue. Halo Green.

The most luminous Fortis ever.
