Fortis x Bjerke: A New Chapter in Oslo
With a dedicated launch evening in Oslo, Fortis establishes its presence at one of Norway’s leading watch retailers. A night defined by technical depth, direct exchange and a world first from Nåva Space.
Bjerke is one of Norway’s most established watch retailers, known for curating brands with substance and technical credibility. The boutique in Oslo offers a setting where conversations go beyond looks. It is a place for collectors who care about construction, movement architecture and long-term reliability.
To mark the beginning, we hosted a launch evening at Bjerke together with collectors, partners and long-time friends of the brand.
The atmosphere was focused and personal. Petra, Jupp and Pascal presented the collections themselves. Novonaut, Stratoliner, Flieger, Marinemaster and Vagabond were laid out for proper inspection. Guests picked them up. Tried them on. Questions became specific. Materials were discussed. Bezel systems tested. Chronographs actuated.
Then came a moment that shifted the room.
A Man Building His Own Path to Space
Nima J. Shahinian is Norway’s first astronaut candidate and the founder of Nåva Space.
An industrial designer by profession, Nima began astronaut training in Star City in 2022 with the ambition of becoming the first Norwegian in space. Following geopolitical developments, he withdrew from the Russian program and decided to chart a new course.
In 2023, he founded Nåva Space, an independent Norwegian space organization working with international partners including SpaceX to enable Norwegian paraastronaut participation in future missions.
At Bjerke, he presented something special. A world first: his newly developed astronaut suit, designed by himself and engineered to integrate his Novonaut.
Seeing a Fortis instrument positioned within real mission equipment reframed the conversation. Space was no longer distant. It was immediate.
A Serious Address in Norway
With Bjerke, Fortis gains a serious presence in Norway. The launch evening was the starting point. The collections are now available in Oslo, ready to be experienced where they belong: on the wrist, in real life.
